About Shelly Jacobs IBCLC
We’re a warm, family-centered lactation practice devoted to helping parents feel supported, empowered, and well-equipped throughout their feeding journey. Our practice is growing quickly, and we’re excited to welcome another IBCLC who brings both clinical expertise and a heartfelt touch to the families we serve. In April, Shelly will be going on maternity leave, so we will need an IBCLC available for approximately 20 hours a week from at least April-August (give or take).
Who We’re Looking For
A compassionate, confident IBCLC who enjoys the flexibility of independent work and loves meeting and helping new families. If you thrive on meaningful connection, can navigate feeding challenges with steady reassurance, and love to help families during this beautiful, yet vulnerable time….you’ll fit right in.
Responsibilities
- Provide in-home and/or virtual lactation consultations under the Shelly Jacobs IBCLC practice umbrella
- Offer individualized, evidence-based care to support breastfeeding families
- Document visits promptly and accurately in our charting system
- Communicate clearly and kindly with clients and referring providers
- Maintain your own professional liability insurance and current credentials
- Work independently while collaborating smoothly within our supportive team
Requirements
- Current IBCLC certification (in good standing)
- Professional liability insurance (or willingness to obtain)
- Reliable transportation for home visits
- Strong assessment and counseling skills
- Warm bedside manner and excellent communication
- Comfort with electronic charting and virtual visit platforms
